After the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued a severe weather warning for some parts of the North West and Northern Tablelands on Sunday, various towns rejoiced the welcome rainfall. Tenterfield received 10.8mm across both days, and Guyra 23.6mm. Armidale received 15mm of rain on Monday, following 2.8mm on Sunday. Storm conditions are expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday, especially around the Northern Slopes and Plains. BOM is predicting a 60 per cent chance of rain for the southern part of the Northern Tablelands on Tuesday, with a slight (30 per cent) chance elsewhere.
